[00:23] 1.Check if prohibited items First, you should check that it does not contain items that cannot be sent by EMS. Even if only one prohibitied item is included. The entire mail will be returned. Now let's take a look at the reception process, Postage is priced on actual weight or volumetric weight, whichever is greater. So please select a box of the appropriate size. [01:51] RECEPTION PROCESS-1 Buying and packing a box. If you do not have the box ready, please take a number. after looking at the box sample provided at the post office. and tell the counter the box number of the size you want to purchase. If you are staying in Korea for a while and are unable to write down your residential address, please write down your hotel's detail address, including the hotel phone number and room number you stated in. in the box on the right, please write the address information in English. Some countries return an item in case the address is absent.If there is no contact number on the address label. If it's return, it would take more than one month. Therefore, please fill in the contact number whenever available. The addressdee's postal code is mandatory. Please write the country name in English.If you are not sending it for sale, please check Gift. Even if you are sending it to your own home, you can think of it as a gift to yourself. Please write a accurately and specifically the customs declaration form, such as the product name(in English), quantity, weight, and value(in USD). Mail returned due to wrongly or insufficiently filled out customs declarations is not compensated.Depending on the customs regulations of the destination country. The recipient may be taxed upon receipt of the mail. Please note that if the recipient does not pay taxes, the mail may be returned. Is there anything valuable itmes inside your package? If so, insured mail is much safer because we can insure it against a loss of a damage up to seven million won. However, mail containing food or electronics cannot be insured. If you'd like to send by insured mail, check YES, and then write down the value of the entire item in won.(NOTE Delayed delivery due to absence of addressee, holidays, customs clearance is not covered by compensation.) If possible, we recommend you to use a box selling in the post office. Fill out the EMS address label and hand your parcel with the address label to counter clerk The counter clerk will measure the length and weight of your parcel to accept your EMS. [01:48] 03 EMS address Label. Let's fill out the address label in practice. Please write down sender's Telephone number, Full name, Address, Postal code and e-mail in English. Please check here for electronic consent about an agreement of your personal information to customs and compensation regulation. And you need to write down Addressee's information as well. Items without those information may be returned in case of the absence of addressee, or from exchange office. [Important] Please make sure that all required fields need to be written in English according to the application of Customs clearance information in advance, which means local language is NOT able to be registered in the system. Customs declaration is an official permission to bring goods into or take goods out of a country through the Customs Authority. So you need to specify all information of your items to declare in detail. please check the type of your items, sample, gift or merchandise. Normally, you can select Gift When you send your EMS to your family or your friends. In case of Sample or Merchandise, 3 copies of invoice are required. Fill out all the information in English regarding Contents, Quantity, Net weight, Value in USD, HS code and the country of origin ACCURATELY. [00:08] EMS How to send an international parcel from Korea [00:11] (JINHEE) Hello, I am Jinhee, I work at the post office. In this video, we will learn about how to send international mail from Korea. There are a lot of options to send mail internationally such as by air or surface, or priority express or standard.

[00:28]Today I am going to talk about EMS. So have you heard about EMS? It stands for Express Mail Service. FAST SAFE. First, it is the fastest option. It only takes approximately a week to get to its final destination.(NOTICE:Especially with the COVID-19 pandemic, international mail can be delayed. Checkout the Korea post's website for more details) Second, it is the safest option. It provides tracking services so I can track my package. When the delivery is being completed, it is confirmed with the recipient's signature as well as a text message notification. There are even optional insurance services available. Let's walk through an example! I want to send this package to my friend in Switzerland. So follow me and let's send a parcel together!

[01:12] EMS STEP 1:Pack my items! First, I am going to pack these items safely.If you do not have any materials at home with which to pack, do not worry about it!As you can see, everything you need is available in any Korea Post Office. There are many diffrent box sizes you can select from, And you can use scissors, tape, bubble wrap and pens free of charge. For my package, I choose the number 1 box size. My items are not very fragile, so I am going to put them in the middle of the box and then wrap paper around them. Once you're done securing your items safely inside the box, the next step is to fill out the paper EMS form.

[02:00] STEP 2: FILL OUT THE EMS FORM! This is an EMS form! First, I will enter my own contact information. I write my full name as it appears on my passport, my mobile phone number to receive text notification updates about the package, and my address in case there are any delivery issues. In the unlikely event that there is an issue with delivery, the package will be returned to the address I provide. On the right hand side, I will now enter the addressee information. I write my Swiss friend's mobile phone number, full name, and address where the package should be sent. The next section of the form covers customs declaration, where I will list what is being shipped. Because this is a gift, I check the appropriate box. I am sending my friend an album, so here I write down a list of the box's contents, the total quantity of each item type, and the value of each item. Please remember that certain items are prohibited from shipping with EMS for safety reasons, including batteries, perfume, aerosols, Blue-tooth earphones and a few other item types.(You can find a comprehensive list of prohibited itmes on our website.) On this form, there are optional insurance services you may select for an additional fee. If you want package insurance, check this box and write down the package's value. Finally, complete the form with your signature!

[03:43] STEP 3: LASTLY, I WILL TAKE MY PACKAGE AND EMS FORM TO THE SERVICE DESK AND PAY FOR THE SHIPPING. I get a number to save my place in line and wait until my number is called out, then go to the desk counter with my number on the screen. When I hand my package and EMS form to the clerk, the clerk will weigh it and confirm the shipping details with me. The shipping price varies by size and weight. I can pay with either cash or credit card. After I pay, the clerk will give me a receipt and EMS form with the tracking number. I can track my package on the Korea post website, and I will receive a text message when it is delivered to its final destination. I hope that it arrives well!

[00:05] How to send packages from Korea via EMS Follow Me Here is a step-by-step process in sending packages abroad through EMS at the korea post office.

[00:14] Step 1: Checking Mailability. Check if EMS is available for the destination country in advance. You can confirm it on the Korea Postal Service website.

[00:28] Step 2:Packing For sending packages overseas through EMS, you can buy a box from the post office to pack your stuff. They provide diffrent size of boxes at a competitive price. Please choose a box that will fit your stuff, and pay for it before you pack your parcel. You should pay for the box before using it. Packing is self-service at Korea Post Offices. There is a section where you can pack your items. Packing materials, like tapes, scissors, or bubble wrap, are already provided for you to use. Of course, it's free of charge. Make sure to pack your package well and properly. Also, check if your package includes prohibited items for sending by air, like perfumes, sprays, and external batteries.

[02:05] Step 3: Filling out the shipping form. Once you're done with packing, you should fill out the required form for EMS. For EMS, there are two forms : one for sending documents, and another for sending goods or non-documnets. Depending on what you are sending, you should choose the appropriate form for shipping. In the case of goods, you should choose the EMS form label written in non-documents. After getting the right form, you have to fill out the informationof the sender, recipient, and itmes in your parcel. For the information of the sender and recipient, please write the sender and recipient's full name, phone number, and addresses with their postal codes correct. For the customs declaration, when shipping goods overseas, a customs declaration form must be completed. So you alose need to declare the items inside your box under the customs declaration section on your shipping form. This includes the quantity, net weight, value or pricesin us dollar, and HS code. If you don't know the HS codes for items, just tell the clerk what the contents of your box are. After filling out the form, do not tape it to the parcel, as the clerk has to fill out the details via computer before they do so.

Then the staff will tell you the amount to be paid. The postage charge is calculated by destination country, weight, and box size(volume weight).
